⛵️IOR – A team of 7 Princeton sailors headed to Larchmont Yacht Club to participate in the Storm Trysail Foundation’s annual Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta (IOR). In a highly competitive fleet of 12 J105s, the Tigers placed fourth, missing the podium by a margin of about five seconds in the final race! The wind was only five knots in the morning but built to 16-17 by the end of the day. Stay tuned next spring as the Tigers take on the Southern Collegiate Offshore Regatta (SCOR) in Charleston!
⛵️Washington College Fall Open Fleet Race – A team of our freshmen sailors competed in Chestertown, MD and won first place by tie break! 🥇The current made for tricky racing, but both A and B divisions completed the scheduled 7 races each by the end of the day. So proud of our freshmen!!!
⛵️David Lee Arnoff Trophy InterConference – Seneca Lake greeted sailors with 18-24 knots out of the south! On Saturday, 10 races were completed while the wind slowly dropped and the final races were completed in a 5-7 southeasterly. All races were W4s. Racing began Sunday morning in a light NE wind which unfortunately died as the day warmed up. One race was completed and then the fleet was postponed ashore; sailors waited for wind for 2 hours and then racing was called for the day.
So proud of our team this weekend, hope everyone enjoys fall break! More info on race results available on Tech Score
